Does GHK-Cu Help with Acne Scars?

Testing so far is small and clinic based, and the science points to collagen support rather than removal of deep scars. Researchers studied healed marks and texture. Active breakouts need different care.

How has it been tested for acne scars?

In 2019, clinicians treated 24 patients with atrophic facial scars, the indented type left after collagen loss. Later hospital teams kept the same add-on approach. Why might it help scars look smoother?

Scars that dip inward reflect lost collagen and support tissue. A 2018 review reported that GHK-Cu increased synthesis of collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans. Collagen gives skin firmness, elastin allows stretch, and glycosaminoglycans help skin hold water. What are its limits for real scars?

Acne scars are common. The IDEAL 2025 consensus from eight Indian dermatologists noted that scarring can affect up to 95% of people with acne, and the group issued expert recommendations on topical peptides for revising acne scars. IDEAL 2025 consensus

Those recommendations address healed, indented texture from collagen breakdown. GHK-Cu does not clear inflamed breakouts. Deep pits and tethered scars respond to in-office procedures that release, resurface or fill tissue. Copper peptides work beside those methods in current study designs.
